Mrs. C. Lester Stanford, 62, Woolstock, died suddenly Friday noon at the home of a daughter Mrs. Vern Segar, at Pine Island, Minn. Mrs. Stanford had gone to Minnesota to spend several days visit her daughter. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Sacquety Funeral Chapel in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Roy Cox, Methodist minister, officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery. Mrs. Sanford was born in Wayne County, Ill., Jan. 29, 1893. The family had lived on the same farm in the Woolstock area since 1925. Survivors are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Vern Segar, Pine Island, Minn., and Mrs. Richard Derscheid of Clarion, and two brothers, William Clawson, Algona, and Frank Clawson of Bellingham, Wash.

Lena A. Clawson was born in Wayne County, Ill., on Jan. 28, 1893. On Sept. 24, 1918 she was married to C. Lester Stanford. In November 1918 they moved to Wright County Iowa where they have since resided and have been engaged in farming most of that time. Mrs. Stanford died Nov 4th at the home of her daughter at West Concord, Minn., where she had gone the day before for a brief visit, when a heart attack on Nov. 4 proved fatal.

She was an active member of the farm bureau of her township and had joined the United Brethren Church as a young woman.

Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Verne Segar of West Concord, Minn., and Mrs. Richard Derscheid of Clarion, two brothers, W. R. Clawson of Algona and Frank R. Clawson of Bellingham, Wash.; also seven grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. One sister and her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Sacquety Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Roy Cox officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
