Dorothy Lucille Wilcox, the daughter of Art and Lucille (Mosher) Sorenson, was born February 17, 1947, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Humboldt. On May 28, 1964, Dorothy was united in marriage to John Wilcox in Humboldt. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove raised two children, Timothy and Sheryl. Dorothy worked a few years at the Eagle Grove Golf Course for Helen Middleton. In 1975, she started working for the Eagle Grove Schools. Dorothy worked in laundry services, she drove various school bus routes – always making sure her kids were safe and not scared - for 20 years and then she was a custodian, retiring in 2008. She then would help out when needed at Eagle Grove Congregate Meals.

In July of 2012, she and John moved to Webster City. Dorothy was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church – where she also had served as custodian. She loved all animals and enjoyed gardening, word searches and reading – especially Harlequin Romances and Nora Roberts Novels.

Dorothy passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City, at the age of 71 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Joan Boggs (Stan) and brother-in-law, Norman Wilcox. Survivors include her husband, John Wilcox of Webster City; son, Tim Wilcox (Jolene) of Clarion; daughter, Sheryl Bahrenfuss (Cory) of Webster City; four grandchildren: Gary Wilcox, Jami Stupka, Colten Wilcox and Rosha Wilcox; sister, Elle Graaf of Webster City; brother, Jim Sorenson of North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Clark of Indianola and Joan Marie Wilcox of Pennsylvania.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 27, 10:30 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
