Ned R. Nelson, 85, formerly of Lansdale and Huntington Valley, passed away Wednesday, Aug 21, 2008 at Ann's Choice. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth Anderson Nelson. Born in Humboldt, IA, he was the son of the late Otis & LaVeta Dickson Nelson. He was the loving father of Mark, Brian and Kent Nelson and the grandfather of six. Mr. Nelson was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during World War II, earning a Purple Heart while serving in Europe. He was very active in civic affairs including serving eight years as a commissioner of Upper Moreland Township. He served on the school board of Upper Moreland, including several years as president. He also served on the advisory boards for the police pension funds for the townships of Upper Moreland and Montgomeryville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial services at 2 PM, Saturday, Sept 13 at Faith Lutheran Church, 615 Cowpath Road, Montgomeryville, PA 18936 followed by a reception. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Mr. Nelson's memory. Arrangements are by the Decker Funeral Home in Warminster.
