Steinke Rites On Thursday
Funeral services for Miss Ida Steinke will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the English Lutheran Church, preceded by a brief service at 2:30 at the Foster Funeral Home. The Rev. M.E. Suhr will officiate and burial will be made in Graceland Cemetery.
Miss Steinke died at 12:10 Tuesday afternoon at Hamilton County Hospital where she had been a patient since last Friday.
In Wright County
Ida Steinke, daughter of Gustave and Carrie Steinke, was born Oct. 6, 1899 on a farm in Wright County. She was educated and reared in that community and in 1925 moved to Waterloo where she was employed for a short time in the telephone office. She attended and was graduated from the beauty culture school in Waterloo and was employed in the beauty culture work there for 13 years. She was forced to retire from this work because of her health, and for the past two years had been making her home with her sister, Mrs. J.D. (Emma) Hutchinson of this city.
List Survivors
Besides her sister, Mrs. Hutchinson, she is survived by the following sisters: Mrs. Ed (Lizzie) Carpenter of Fort Dodge; Mrs Ray (Minnie) Gregory of Waterloo; Mrs. Carl (Josephine) Larson of Cedar Falls; Mrs. A.C. (Rosa) Singer of Webster City, and a half brother, Will Steinke of Waterloo, also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one half-brother.
Miss Steinke was baptized in the Lutheran faith, and was a member of the Trinity American Lutheran church at Waterloo. Miss Steinke was a friendly, generous lady and had made many close acquaintances during her business career and during her residence in Webster City.
