Mrs. Frank Gray Dies Following Long Illness
Mrs Frank Gray died at her home on So. Lucas Ave Friday, following a long illness. For many years Mrs. Gray assisted her husband in the operation of Lydla's Lunch Room. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clark Crowell of Blairsburg in charge
Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were her sons-in-law, Floyd Browning, James Farley, Edwin Christensen, and Hilman Skiye and Forrest Fromm and Bert Wood.Mrs. Gray is survived by her: husband and five daughters, Mrs. Floyd Browning, (Ida) of St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. James Farley (Mildred) of Blairsburg; Mrs. Martin Ehresman (Laura) of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Edwin Christensen (Florence) of Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs Hilman Skiye, (Georgia) of Goldfield. Other survivors are one sister, Mrs. Roy Pressler of Eagle Grove and one brother. W. F Stracke of Washington Stale, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Relatives here from out of town for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Browning of St. Louis, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. James Farley of Blairsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Christensen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. Zephie Gray, Orris Cota, Minneapolis, Minn., Mr and Mrs. Hilman Skiye and daughters. Goldfield, Mrs. Marvin Fuller, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. John Cullen, Clarion, Mrs. Max Ingle, Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Thompson, Humboldt, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Reece Mallard and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Nickless of Fort Dodge.
OBITUARY
Lydia Lea Stracke, daughter of Alexander and Genettie Stracke was born Nov. 23, 1883 at LaPorte City, Iowa. She was baptized in the Methodist Church at Havelock as a small girl. On Aug 11, 1904 at Gowrie she was united in marriage to Frank Gray. They made their home in Eagle Grove since then. Five daughters were born to this union Ida, Mrs. Floyd Browning, of St. Louis; Mildred, Mrs. James Farley, of Blairsburg; Laura, Mrs. Martin Ehresman, of Los Angeles; Florence, Mrs. Edwin Christenson, of Minneapolis; Georgia, Mrs. Hilman Skiye, of Goldfield. She joined the Rebekahs as a girl in Renwick. She was also a member of the Past Noble Grand Assn. She passed away July 11, 1958 at the age of 74 years, 7 mos. and 18 days. She is survived by her husband, the five daughters, 9 grand children and 2 great grandchildren. Also 1 sister, Mrs. Roy Pressler of Eagle Grove and 1 brother V. F. Stracke of Washington state, also several nieces and nephews
