SERVICES FOR F. SHOENHAIR HERE FRIDAY
Funeral services for Frank Shoenhair will be held Friday afternoon, at 2 p.m. in the Wilson-Sacquety Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Roy Cox officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Shoenhair, 76, died about noon Wednesday, April 13 in the University hospital at Iowa City. He had been taken to the hospital on Friday previous. There will be a Masonic service at the Chapel on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. Mr. Shoenhair was born in Lenox, Iowa, but had lived most of his life in Eagle Grove where he was in the automobile business and later the cabinet making business. He has been retired for several years. He is survived by his wife, one daughter Mrs. D. H. Thomas, both of Eagle Grove, one brother W. B. of Muskogee, Oklahoma, three sisters Mrs. Rosa. McKean and Mrs. Sarah McPherson also of Oklahoma, and Ms. Amelia Speer of Olathe, Kans.

Funeral services for Frank Shoenhair who died April 13th in University hospital where he had been a patient for a few days, were held Friday afternoon at the Wilson-Saquety funeral chapel. Rev. Roy Cox officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Moklebust furnished the music and casket bearers were Arthur Ahrens, Ed Kirstein, Robert Blue, E. H. Paine, Fred Allen, Geo. Bawn.
Masonic services were given Thursday evening at the chapel. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Out of town people attending the services were: ? of Algona, Mrs. Wayne Middleton, Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Mile Orr, Ware; Bill Middleton, Coronado, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Paine, Renwick; Richard Shoenhair, Bancroft; Mr. and Mrs. Will Kirstein, Des Moines; Mrs. Minne Pelly, Miss Esther Fowler, Rowan; Mr. and Mrs. Lysle Middleton, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Middleton, Webster City.
Frank, son of John and Lena Haas Shoenhair was born at Lenox Iowa, Feb. 27, 1878 and departed this life at the University hospital in Iowa City at ll:30 a.m. April 13, 1955, being 77 years, l month and 17 days old at the time of his passing. He was one of 11 children, having six brothers and four sisters, five brothers and one sister preceding him in death. When 12 years of age, he moved with his parents to Oklahoma where the family homesteaded a claim near the town of Guthrie and this was his home until he reached young manhood. An older brother opened a mercantile business in Iowa Falls and Frank joined him in this business venture and remained there until 1906 when he came to Eagle Grove and entered the bakery business. In 1908 he was married to Jennie Middleton and they operated the Eagle Bakery for several years finally moving to Sylvia, Kans. where he joined another brother who was operating a garage. Here their only child, a daughter was born. In 1914 the family came back to Eagle Grove, moving in with Mrs. Shoenhair's mother and caring for her, during her years of invalidism. His last few years have been spent in cabinet making and repairing furniture and occupations he thoroughly enjoyed.
He was a member of the Methodist church, Bower Lodge No. 464 A. F. & A. M., The Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted wife, his daughter, Lucille, Mrs. DeWayne Thomas, 2 grandchildren, one brother, W. B. of Muskogee, Okla., three sisters. Mrs. Rosa McKean and Mrs. Sarah McPherson, both of Guthrie, Okla., and Mrs. Amelia Spear of Olathe, Kan., nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
