Prominent Farmer Called
Funeral services for Fred Schroder were held at the Bethel church Sunday afternoon, at two o'clock, and were in charge of his pastor, Rev. Heltibridle and the former pastor Rev. Cox of Newberg. Interment at the German Lutheran cemetery.

Frederich William Schroder, was born in Prentzlow, Germany, July 15, 1875, and departed this life February 20, 1931, aged 55 years, 7 months and 15 days. He was the oldest of a family of nine children, eight sons and one daughter, whose parents, Herman and Wilhelmina Schroder, were early settlers in Wright county. On March 8, 1898, he was united in marriage to Matilda Duden of Williams. They established their home on a farm three miles south of Galt, where they have always resided. To this union was born six daughters and four sons, one daughter Nellie, preceding the father in death in infancy. The surviving members are the wife; Mrs. Lena Carstens, Mrs. Minnie Denger of Galt, Harry of Dows, Mrs. Gertrude Scott of Blairsburg, Mrs. Caroline Godsell of Webster City, Mrs. Fern Blackenship of Galt, Marion, Ernest and Earl, who live at home and eight grandchildren, also his aged mother, seven brothers and one sister, Albert of Galt, John of Blairsburg, Otto of Lake Park, Frank, Will, Herman, Ernest and Mrs. Martha Denger, all of Galt and a host of friends.

Mr. Schroder was converted, baptized and united with the Church of God at Bethe1 in young manhood and was a zealous, faithful servant, of God. Words fail to express his untiring efforts in the service of his master. He filled official capacities in the church, being an elder at the close of his life's service. Mr. Schroder was a faithful companion, a loving and indulgent parent, a kind and obliging neighbor and will be greatly missed not only by his family, but by his neighbors and friends in time of need.

Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. Geo. Knapp of Lincoln, Neb., August Duden, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Will Duden, Will Carstens and family all of Williams; Mr. and Mrs. John Duden of Gladbrook, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olmstead and two sons of Webster City, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schroder of Lake Park, Mrs. John Kneodler and son of Britt, Mr. and Mrs. Will Krietlow of Crystal Lake and Gus Stroberg of Osage.
