AMELIA SCHROEDER
Funeral services for Amelia Schroeder, 90, were held Wednesday, July 18, 1990 at 11 a.m. from Vernon Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Dykstra officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Elledge Funeral Home of Dows was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Raymond Johnson was the organist and Mrs. Robert Ritter the soloist. Casket bearers were grandsons; Monty Montandon,
Larry Montandon, Steve Schroeder, Scott Cullinan, Mike Schroeder and Todd Schroeder. Mrs. Schroeder died Saturday, July 14, 1990 at the Dows Care Center where she has resided since September 13, 1983.She was born May 7, 1900 in LaSalle County, Illinois to Gottlieb and Lena Walker Hipp. At a very early age the family moved to Vernon Township where she received her education and grew to womanhood. On February 7, 1923 she was united in marriage to William Schroeder. After their marriage they farmed in Vernon Township until 1954 when they retired and moved into Dows. He died on May 19, 1957.
Mrs. Schroeder has been a member of Vernon Lutheran Church all of her life and was a life time member of the Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include, six children; Arlene Montandon of Dows, Wilbur Schroeder of Williams, Erma Cullinan of Clarion, Velma VanGerpen of Dows, Harold Schroeder of Littleton, Colorado and Melvin Schroeder of Fort Dodge. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren,
22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, one brother; Fred Hipp of Dunedin, Florida and a sister-in-law, Leona Cook of Dows.Wright County Monitor -- Clarion, Iowa
