Services Held for Asa Legge
Funeral services for Asa Legge, 71, retired Clarion farmer, were held at 2 p.m. at the Eyler Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Mr. Legge died Friday at the Peabody Nursing Home in Peabody, Kansas. Mr. Legge was a long time Clarion farmer and a veteran of WWI. Survivors include one son, Richard, of Newton, Kansas, and two brothers, George A., Garner, and Richard C., Garner, two sisters, Mrs. Bartel Michels, Clarion, and Mrs. Celestin Loux, Eagle Grove, and two grandchildren.

Obituary of Asa D. Legge
Asa Delmer Legge was born to W. A. and Mary Margaret (Spencer) Legge, May 11, 1896, at Maroa, Illinois. He came with the family to Iowa as a child settling in the Klemme community. He lived in Hancock County since 1935 until 1960 when he went to live with his son in Newton, Kansas. He died Friday, August 18, 1967, at the Peabody Memorial Nursing Home, in Peabody, Kansas at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 7 days. Mr. Legge was a retired farmer, WWI veteran, and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his son, Richard D. Legge, of Newton, Kansas and two granddaughters; two brothers, Richard C. and George O., of Garner, two sisters, Mrs. Celestin (Maude) Loux, of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Bartel (Ida) Michels, of Clarion. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby C., July 1, 1958, and one son, Charles William. Burial was in the Clarion, Evergreen Cemetery.
