September 1, 1946 ---- April 22, 2018

Goldfield, Iowa ---- Dean Michael Reichter, a.k.a. "Grandfather of Triplets", was born on September 1, 1946, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Wendell and Bernice (Keen) Reichter, joining his older brother, David in the home. He was raised on the family farm, attended the Goldfield United Methodist Church and graduated with Goldfield High School class of 1964. He then attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette, during this time he married Jackie Stevenson and they had a daughter, Deanna. Dean received his Bachelor of Arts degree and worked in Northeast Iowa until moving from West Union to Hardy in 1973. Dean became the manager of the Hardy COOP in 1975 and worked there until his retirement in 2002. Even after retirement, Dean continued to enjoy his 30 plus years being a part of the farming operation, always glad when the first seed was planted!

Dean was truly a 'people person" and his phone became his office – he was known for all of the contacts that he had. Dean and Jackie enjoyed traveling with the "kids" and a fun group called "Bonnie's Travelers", spending winters in Arizona and attending all of the Hawkeye games. He also enjoyed playing golf at Oakridge and many neighboring courses. Dean served on the boards of Oakridge Recreation and CORN LP.

Dean passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018, in Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 71 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, John and Barbara Stevenson; aunts, uncles and cousins: William Keen (Mildred), Mabel Nelson (Wayne), Lloyd Keen, Duane Keen, Phil Nelson, Lynn Nelson and Lawrence McCutcheon (Lorine). Dean is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughter Dee Kain and husband Brad; grandsons, Austin, Travis and Justin Kain; brother, David Reichter and wife Cheryl; nephew, Brian Reichter and wife Kim and their children Abby, Blake and Cael; uncle, Dick Keen (Bev); aunts, Wanda Keen and Corrine Keen and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 27, 11:00 a.m., at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with Rev. Alberta Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home, Goldfield. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
