Hold Funeral Rites for William Legge, 76
Clarion – Funeral services were held Monday at the Eyler Funeral Home for William Legge, 76, of Garner, who died Friday. The Rev. Louis H. Preul, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Clarion Cemetery. Mr. Legge was born March 12, 1870 in DeWitt County, Illinois. On Jan 7, 1895 he was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Spencer. To this union were born eight children; a son and a daughter preceded him in death. In 1907 the family moved to a farm near Clarion where they resided until 1935, when they moved to Garner. Beside his wife he is survived by three sons: Asa, Richard and George, all of Garner, and three daughters, Mrs. Mart Michels, Des Moines, Mrs. Celestine Loux, Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Albert Olson, Dows, one sister, Mrs. Addie Bates of Farmer City, Ill., and eleven grand children.
