Mrs. J. E.. McCausland, age 62, died Sunday morning, Dec. 16, 1956 at Sonora Hospital in Sonora, Calif., where she had been a patient for about three weeks.

Mrs. McCausland, nee Lillian O. Warren, was born March 4, 1894, in Leland, Ill. the eldest daughter of Thomas and Mary Warren. She came to Eagle Grove with her parents in the spring of 1895 where they resided on a farm south of town until 1902, at which time the family moved to Steele, N.D. They lived there until 1909 when they returned to Eagle Grove. Most of her life was spent in and around Eagle Grove except for the past seven years which were spent at the home of her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. McCausland of Sonora, Calif.

She was united in marriage to James E. McCausland on June 22, 1919, at Ft. Dodge. To this union one son, Donald Edward, was born. After their marriage they operated a farm for a number of years at Elmore, Minn., returning to Eagle Grove in 1934 where they operated a grocery store until the death of Mr. McCausland, August 24, 1945.

She leaves to mourn her passing her son Donald and wife, Marian of Sonora, Calif.; a step-daughter Mrs. Ralph P. Humphreys of Hampton; a step-son, Dr. E. J. McCausland of Brewster, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Steeples of Ft. Madison; Mrs. Ray Ahlgren of Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. William Adams of Fort Dodge; four brothers, Truman of Eagle Grove; Clarence of Rockford, Ill.; Clarence of Rockford, Ill.; Melvin of Fort Dodge; James of Monterey, Calif.; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A Rosary for Mrs. McCausland was said Thursday evening at the Kastler Funeral Home with funeral services Friday morning, Dec. 21, 1956, at the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Maurice Mullan officiating. Interment was in the family lot, Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Humphreys; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Humphreys and family; Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Husz, Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Klier and daughter, Des Moines; Jim Humphreys, Humboldt; Dr. and Mrs. E. J. McCausland, Brewster, Minn; Mr. and Mrs. Howard McCausland and daughter, Lake Park; Mrs. Ray Ahlgren and Clarence, Warren, Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Steeples, Ft. Madison; Mrs. Richard Christ, Burlington; Mrs. W. F. Adams and Melvin Warren, Ft. Dodge and Sherman and Everett Dorset, Ortley, S. D.
