Grace Wilkinson was born March 22, 1895, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna Voss Wilkinson at Webster City. She received her education in the Webster City school system. She was united in marriage to Meredith Messick of Eagle Grove in 1920 at Eagle Grove. They moved to California in 1922, where she was employed by Bullocks Department Store in Los Angeles for 40 years.

Mr. Messick died in 1959. She was united in marriage to Charles A. Kastler of Eagle Grove on May 17, l963 at Quincy, Ill. They returned to Eagle Grove where Mr. Kastler owned the Kastler Funeral Home. He died in 1972. Mrs. Kastler continued living in their home until ill health forced her to enter the Clarion Care Center 13 months ago. She was a member of the Equality Club and the Eagle Grove Chamber of Commerce.

Grace Kastler died January 25, 1994 at the Clarion Care Center at the age of 98 years, 10 months, and three days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Meredith and Charles; brothers, Frank, Lindon, Calvin, Benny and Orville; sister Mary Barracks, Mathilda Shiley, and Zelma and Helen Wilkinson. She is survived by one brother, Roy Wilkinson, Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Margaret Frakes, Clarion; sister-in-law, Bernetta Wilkinson, Eagle Grove; and a niece of Mr. Kastler, Mrs. William (Patricia Boughton) Kniel of Quincy, Ill.; and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 29 at the Kastler Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. The Rev. H. W. Schiller officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
