Orville W. Wilkinson was born November 17, 1912 at Webster City, Iowa, the son of Benjamin and Anna Voss Wilkinson. He received his education from Webster City rural schools and graduated from Dows Community High School.

He was united in marriage to Bernette Kelch of Algona on April 18, 1938 at Algona. The couple lived in Arkansas for one year, then Orville served with the Navy Sea Bee's in WWII. After serving his time in war, the couple then moved to Minneapolis, Minn., until 1974 when they made the permanent move to Eagle Grove. Orville worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and welder. He retired in 1966 because of ill health.

Orville Wilkinson died at his home October 16, 1987, the result of an apparent heart attack at the age of 74 years, 11 months, and one day. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Linden, Calvin, and Benjamin; three sisters, Mary Barracks, Zelma Wilkinson, and Helen Wilkinson. He is survived by his wife, Bernette; brothers, Frank of San Jose, Calif.; Roy, of Naples, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Grace) Kastler of Eagle Grove; Margaret Frakes of Webster City; Mathilda Shiley of Fayetteville, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 20th at 10 a.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Father Wayne Droessler officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
