Roy McFarland, 44, former marshal of the town of Kittitas, died at the county hospital this morning. He had undergone an operation for appendicitis. McFarland has been Kittitas marshal for six years, serving until the change in administrations this year. He came to the Kittitas Valley in 1932 from Iowa and had also engaged in farming here. He was born in [Corwith] Iowa. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maggie McFarland, and 10 children, Albert, LeRoy, Louise, Carmaleta, Levi, and Gloria, all of whom live at Kittitas. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
