March 21, 1895 --- June 24, 1960

Mrs. Maggie D. Hester (McFarland), a former Ellensburg resident died at the Monroe General Hospital at Monroe, Washington, June 24, at the age of 63 years. Mrs. Hester was born March 21, 1895 in Davis, [Dows, Iowa] Iowa. She was married to Roy T. McFarland in Iowa and moved to the Kittitas Valley in 1931. He preceded her in death in 1940. She later married Mr. Hester and has lived in Snohomish for the past three years.

Mrs. Hester is survived by her husband, six sons: Harley McFarland of Mountlake Terrace, Lawrence and Emery McFarland of Kent, Levi McFarland of Snohomish and Art McFarland of Blaine; three daughters; Mrs. Lester Stuard and Mrs. Walter Boatright of Seattle and Mrs. Robert Voris of Omak; 28 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Guy Quasdorf of Hampton, Iowa and John Quasdorf of Davis, [Dows] Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Erickson, Davis, [Dows], Mrs. Marvel Woods, Duluth, Minnesota, and Mrs. Hattie Richardson of Manzanita, Oregon.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29 at 1 p.m. in the Evenson Chapel. Rev. Phillip Graf of Monroe will officiate and burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery.
