PHYLLIS E. THOMPSON
Phyllis E. Pfantz was born on May 20, 1934, at State Center, Iowa, to Harold and Freda Koppey Pfantz. She grew up in State Center and graduated from high school there. She was united in marriage to Duane Thompson on June 1, 1958, at State Center. She worked in the bank at State Center for eight years as a bookkeeper before moving to Eagle Grove, Iowa. She worked at Brenton Bank for thirty years before retiring. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, where she was active in Church Circle and the church choir.

Phyllis E. Thompson died Tuesday, September 7, 1999, at her home in Eagle Grove at the age of 65. She is survived by her husband, Duane, Eagle Grove; three children, Tony Thompson, and wife, Robin, Cedar. Rapids, Iowa, Jenny Thompson, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Scott Thompson, and wife, Teresa, North Aurora, Ill.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Darwin Pfantz, and wife Doris, State Center, and Byron Pfantz, and wife, Donna, Marshalltown, Iowa; two sisters, Kathryn Saint, and husband, Chuck, Lincoln, Iowa, and Dorothy Davis, and husband, Bob, Fort Dodge, Iowa; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 10, 1999, at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverends Paul and Susan Stone officiating. Burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
