ZELMA E. NOFFKE
Zelma Emilie Arnold, daughter of George and Anna Petzing, was born October 2, 1909, at Effingham, Ill. She attended rural schools in Illinois. She married Clyde E. Jones at Shumway, Ill., on July 27, 1933. They were later divorced. She moved to Webster City, Iowa, in 1954. On February 20, 1954, she married Henry Albert Noffke at Sigel, Ill. The couple resided in Webster City, Iowa. For several years, she worked at house cleaning and baby sitting in Webster City, retiring in 1989. Her husband, Henry Noffke, died on June 17, 1963.

Zelma E. Noffke, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Webster City, died Saturday, September 4, 1999, at the Loess Hills Care Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She is survived by one son, Leland Jones and his wife, Shirley, Council Bluffs; one stepson, Clarence Noffke, and wife, Evelyn, Webster City; one grandson, Perry Jones, and wife, Kristi, Council Bluffs; one great granddaughter; 16 step-greatgrandchildren; one step-great-greatgrandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; one brother, Alvin Arnold; and two sisters, Alma and Elizabeth Arnold.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 8, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City with Reverend Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial was held in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Foster Funeral Home of Webster City was in charge of arrangements.
