Clifford Angell was born on June 25, 1937, at Ottumwa, Iowa, to Coventry and Eva Raymie Angell. He graduated from Albia High School in 1955 and attended the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1959. On August 10, 1958, he was united in marriage to Beverly Boleyn at Albia, Iowa, in the First Christian Church. He later did graduate work at the University of Northern Iowa and Morningside College at Sioux City, Iowa. He began his teaching career at Palmer, Iowa, teaching from 1959 to 1968. He moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa, and taught school from 1968 to 1996, when he retired. Throughout his career, he coached girls sports as well as teaching. He was a local advisor and State Chairman for Future Business Leaders. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove, National Education Association, Iowa State Education Association, and the Iowa Business Educators Association.

Clifford Angell died Thursday, September 9, 1999, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 62. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, Eagle Grove; four children, Sharon Williams, Eagle Grove, Steve Angell and wife, Sue, Indianola, Iowa, Scott Angell and wife, Amy, Indianola, and Shawn Angell and wife Jeri, Ogden, Iowa; two grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 13, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
