January 23, 1912 -- December 31, 1999

Margaret Myers, 87, Point Lookout, Missouri, died at her home at the College of the Ozarks. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 4th at Whelchel Funeral Chapel in Branson, Missouri. Rev. Donald E. Keithly of the Branson United Methodist Church officiated the 10 am service. Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 6th at the Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Margaret Meyers [Myers] was born January 23, 1912, in Lake City, the daughter of Eula (Swender) and Chester M. Taylor. On April 19. 1943, Margaret enlisted in the United States Navy where she served at the U S Naval Air Station. Banana River, Florida. She was honorably discharged on April 16, 1946, as a Storekeeper (disbursing clerk) First Class. On October 15, 1951 she and Dean Wesley
Meyers [Myers] were united in marriage and in 1958 [1978] they moved to the Ozarks. They were actively involved with the College of the Ozarks, its associations, committees, activities and particularly the Ralph Foster Museum. She was a member of the PEO since 1981 and Past President of the Branson Chapter. She was a member of the College of the Ozarks Presbyterian Women's Organization and an active member of the Republican Party.

Margaret is survived by one son - Richard Myers of Bemidji, Minnesota, two sisters -Evelyn DeLooff of Rochester, Michigan, twin sister - Martha Schar of Point Lookout, Michigan, one nephew - Tom Schar of Dallas, Texas, two grandchildren, three grandnieces and one grandnephew. She was preceded in death by her husband. Dean in March of 1998. Memorial contributions may be made to the College of the Ozarks. Point Lookout, Missouri.
