Generosa Mary Umthun was born July 14, 1926, in St. Paul, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Umthun. She was a housewife. She was married to William Benton. Generosa Mary Benton died on Saturday, January 9, 1999, in Omaha, Neb., at the age of 72 years, 5 months, and 25 days. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Black and husband, Jerry, Omaha, Neb., and Diane Quillen and husband, Chuck, Midlothian, Va.; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers, Joe Umthun, Virgil Umthun, and Mark Umthun, all of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and Frank Umthun, Mediapolis, Iowa; four sisters, Dorene Hauer, Mary Ann Powell, and Donna Culmer, all of Eagle Grove, and Bernadette Jorgensen, Omaha, Neb. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; one daughter, Patricia Perry; and one sister, Jane Umthun.

Services will be held Wednesday (today), January 13, 1999, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church Omaha, Neb., at 10 a.m., with burial, at Calvary Cemetery at Omaha. A Vigil Service was held on Tuesday, January 12, 1999, at Roeder Mortuaries, Inc., Omaha, Neb. Roeder Mortuaries, Inc. of Omaha, Neb., is in charge of the arrangements.
