FERNE M. TURNER
Ferne Marian Manemann was born on November 24, 1918, to Fred and Clara Nelson Manemann in Marshall, Minnesota. She attended rural public schools, graduating in 1937. On February 6, 1940, she married John O. Turner, Sr. in Fort Dodge, Iowa The couple fanned near Rutland, Dumont, and Hanlontown, Iowa, before moving to Eagle Grove, Iowa, in 1953. Mr. Turner died in 1962. She worked at the Messenger Studio in Eagle Grove and Don Peterson Photo, in Fort Dodge for many years, retiring in 1983. In 1993, she moved to Williams, Iowa. She had been a resident of Crestview Manor Care Center in Webster City, Iowa, since May, 1994. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove, Naomi Circle, and the Professional Photographers of America.

Ferne M. Turner died Monday, January 4, 1999, at the Hamilton Hospital in Webster City at the age of 80. Survivors include one daughter, Gerri Geitz, and husband, Earl; one son, John Turner, and wife, Susan, all of Williams; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Manemann, Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 7, 1999, at 2 pm. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend William E. Ballard officiating. Burial was held in the Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion, Iowa. Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
