LORETTA F. ROBINSON
Loretta F. James was born March 10, 1911. She was the daughter of Riley Beaumont and Lena Leota Stiverson James at Clarinda. She received her education in the Clarinda School System, and graduated from Clarinda High School. She received her BA degree in teaching from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College. She began her teaching career at Gramham and Jamison, Mo., schools. She relocated to Goldfield where she met and later married Otis Daryl Robinson on November 27, 1937 at Troy, Kan. The couple owned and operated the Downtown Cafe and later the Oats Bin Cafe, both in Goldfield. She returned to teaching in 1952. She began teaching in the Goldfield High School and continued there until 1961 when she became librarian at the Eagle Grove Middle School. Mr. Robinson died in 1970. She retired in 1976 and became active in the Alpha Kappa Delta Professional Teachers Society. She was a longtime member of the Goldfield United Methodist Church, U.M.W., various card clubs, Oakridge Recreation, the Bayview Women's Club of Goldfield, and the Alpha Kappa Delta Sorority.

Loretta Robinson died Friday, March 25, 1994 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines where she had been entered March 24. She was 83 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Hintz of Des Moines; two brothers, Kenneth James of Clarinda, and Max James of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Frances Jacobson and Elaine Whigham, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were were held Monday, March 28 at the Goldfield United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Rozendaal officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle
Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
