Funeral Monday for Otis Robinson
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Church at 2 o'clock for Otis D. Robinson, 57, who died suddenly at his home Friday. Rev. Frank Elliott of the United Presbyterian Church Goldfield officiated and burial was in Glenwood cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the Goldfield American Legion Post. Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, and one daughter (Marcia) Mrs. Larry Hintz of Muscatine, and three grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Tyrell Robinson of Waterloo, two sisters, Mrs. Fred Schnell of Goldfield and Mrs. Gordon Keleher of Independence, Mo.

He was a member of the United Methodist church, the American Legion and the Goldfield Business Men's Club. He recently opened his own cafe in Goldfield.

Obituary
Otis Daryl Robinson was born May 3, 1913, at Woolstock, the son of Josie and Sarah Tyrrell Robinson. He attended the Woolstock school, was graduated from high school there, and attended the American Institute of Business at Des Moines. He then worked in a restaurant for a time in Minnesota before operating his own restaurant in Kanawha. On November 27, 1937, he was united in marriage to Loretta James of Clarinda, at Troy, Kans. The young couple returned to Goldfield to make their home. Otis worked at the ordinance plant near Ankeny, before entering the Navy on November 7, 1943. He trained at Farragut, Idaho, and served on the Battleship USS Massachusetts in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. He was discharged from the navy on November 13, 1945, and returned to Goldfield where he managed the Downtown Cafe before opening his own cafe in Goldfield. He also worked for the Boone Valley Co-op for some time.

He completed a course at the Ft. Dodge Business College and was bookkeeper for the Boone Valley Egg Processing Plant and also for the Sorensen Livestock Company at Goldfield. Illness forced him to give up his work, and recently, he had opened a restaurant in Goldfield. Otis died suddenly at his home on Friday, May 22, at the age of 57 years and 19 days. He is survived by his wife Loretta and one daughter, Marcia (Mrs. Larry Hintz) Muscatine; one brother, Tyrrell Robinson, Waterloo; two sisters: Maxine, Mrs. Fred Schnell, Goldfield; Clarice, Mrs. Gordon Keleher, Independence, Mo. and three grandchildren. He was a member of the United Methodist church of Goldfield, of the American Legion, and the Goldfield Businessmans Club.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 25, at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist church at Goldfield, with Rev. Frank Elliott of the United Presbyterian church of Goldfield officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. Military rites were provided by the Goldfield American Legion Post.
