June 5, 1912 --- July 18, 1997

Lilian Louise Noack, 85, formerly of Clarion, died Friday, July 18, 1997, in Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 31, at Clarion United Presbyterian Church. Pastor Candace Adams will officiated the 10 a.m. service. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Gary Brandt will provide the music and Bob Loux will be the vocalist. Lilian's grandchildren will be casketbearers. Honorary casketbearer is Tanya Bierl.

Lilian was born June 5, 1912, the daughter of Arthur and Iva Quaife Glazier in LaSalle County, Illinois. At the young age of six, Lilian's mother passed away and she then lived with her aunt and uncle in Grand Ridge, Illinois. She attended school in Grand Ridge and Ottawa, Illinois. After graduating from Illinois State Teachers College, Lilian taught in a country school for seven years. In 1954, she began teaching again in Goldfield and Clarion. She returned to school and completed her teaching degree at Drake University in Des Moines and then taught children in Special Education for 17 years in the Clarion School system. Since retirement from teaching, she has enjoyed making beautiful afghans for family and friends. On March 30, 1937, she was united in marriage to Leonard W. Noack. They farmed near Grand Ridge, Illinois, until January, 1948, when the family moved to Clarion, where they farmed until retirement in 1972. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Clarion. After Leonard passed away last year, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to be with her family and then became a member of First Baptist Church of Phoenix.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons - Leonard A. Noack of Scottsdale, Arizona; John Noack of Cedar Falls; one daughter - Louise Hamman of Scottsdale, Arizona; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother - Pat Glazier; one sister - Margaret Baker. Preceding her in death were her husband, Leonard, and one brother.
