Allen Musgrave Middleton

September 29, 1854 ---- August 6, 1910

Saturday, August 6th, at his home in Eagle Grove, Allen Middleton passed from Earth to the Great Beyond. His death was not unexpected, for he had been ill for a long time with that dread disease, cancer. A short time ago he went to Iowa City, where he had an operation which was unsuccessful. He returned to his home here, where he expected to recover, and where death came to relieve him of suffering. Allen Middleton was born in Port Washington, Tuscarawas county, Ohio in 1854. When only a year old, he moved to Iowa with his parents and lived on a farm south of town, until 1861. He then moved into town, where he took up the carpenter's trade which he has pursued ever since. He was married January 1, 1900, to Miss Laura Harpham.

Funeral service were held in the Methodist church Tuesday morning, Rev. Chapler preaching the sermon. Many friends join us in extending sympathy to his bereaved wife and other relatives, who mourn the loss of an upright, Christian man.
