Funeral of Wm. Hiday last Sat.

BRIDGEPORT, WASHINGTON - Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Saturday afternoon for William Hiday, with Rev. Stewart Sparrow, of Pateros, officiating and Smith Funeral Home in charge. A quartet of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Lamoreux, Mrs. Chas. Washburn and A. O. Lamoreux sang "Rock of Ages," "Goodnight, Good Morning" and "The Last Mile of the Way," with Mrs. A. O. Lamoreux at the piano. Interment was in the Bridgeport cemetery. The following were pall bearers: Wm. Campbell, Joe Bowers, Andy Hansen, Wilbur Conklin, A. Z. Roche, M. Cartwright and J. McClelland. The Odd Fellows Lodge attended in a body and assisted in the services.

Wm. Hiday was born at Goldfield, Iowa, October 19, 1860 and at the age of 12 moved with his parents to Indiana where he lived until 1906. He came to Leahy in 1908 and took up a homestead. He was married to Mrs. Josephine Weaver at Bridgeport April 15, 1914 and they lived on the ranch until moving to Bridgeport where they have lived for 17 years. He is survived by his wife and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Doty of Indianapolis, Indiana. Also five nephews and three nieces. He was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge, Arthur, Ill., for 64 years.
