Glenn B. Hansen was born July 13, 1911 in Goldfield, Iowa, the son of Chris and Frances Grover Hansen. He died on July 2, 1996 in Waterloo. He married Ardyth E. Riebhoff on November 9, 1935 in Waterloo. She died December 18, 1994. Mr. Hansen was an electrician for Black Hawk Electric for 43 years, retiring in 1981, and then was an electrical inspector for the City of Waterloo. Glenn was a member of the I.B.E.W. with 44 years of service. He was a charter member of the Wapsi Ranglers and had received the following awards and recognition; 1960, B.S.A. certificate of appreciation for service during Golden Jubilee Award; 1966-67, chairman of B.S.A. Wapsie Wrangler Horse Show; 1982, B.S.A. "Silver Beaver Award" for distinguished service to youth; 1990, "George Meany Award" for outstanding service to youth; 1991, B.S.A. certificate of appreciation and dedication of 30th annual Horse Show for service as Wapsie Wrangler; 1991, B.S.A. Wapsie Wrangler service certificate.
Glenn is survived by three sons, Paul Bliss of Oxnard, California, Jerry Hansen of Waterloo and Thomas Hansen of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Shelley Hansen of Waterloo; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Ardyth. Memorials may be directed to the family.
