Mrs. Carl J. (Anna C.) Kalvig, 79, died Wednesday morning in her home, 522 Delaware NE. She had lived in Mason City 40 years, coming here from Belmond.
Mrs. Kalvig was born April 15, 1885, in Ford County, Illinois, daughter of John and Julia (Ryerson) House. She moved to Belmond in 1893 and lived there until 1924, when she moved to Mason City. She was married to Carl J. Kalvig, October 5, 1902, at Belmond.
Surviving are two daughters, Ms. Cris (Lillian) Williamson, Mason City, and Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Gilbertson, Waterloo; three sons, Vern Kalvig, Northwood; Alfred Kalvig, Waterloo; and John Kalvig, Mason City; 28 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1947 and by a daughter and 10 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Kalvig was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Major Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Herman A. Diers visitation pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
