Henry William Hibbert was born in Woolwich, England, Feb. 27, 1858. At the age or 16 he came with his parents to Canada and settled at Niagara Falls. In 1889 he came to Eagle Grove where he has since lived. He made his home with his brother, George Hibbert, who, for years, ran the Grove Hotel. Mr. Hibbert never married. He clerked in the hotel and did gardening.

He was baptized when a child in the Church of England. Up until the time of his death he enjoyed the old hymns of the church and sang them with spirit. When the family came to this country they identified themselves with the Plymouth Brethren.

Since the death of his brother he has made his home with his niece, Mrs. Charley Knobles. He died Nov. 11, 1929 of a stroke which followed a heart attack, having reached the age of 71 years, 8 months and 14 days. He leaves a sister, Mrs. Chas. Cole of Niagara Falls, Canada, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the Kubitschek-Kastler Funeral Parlors on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. W. G. Muhleman, pastor of the Methodist church, had charge of the services. Interment was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
