Emma Victoria Sanders was born January 24,1907, at Butler, Mo., the daughter of Joel and Cora Sanders. The family moved to Eagle Grove when she was a child and she was educated in the Eagle Grove schools. She was united in marriage to Marvin Spangler of Eagle Grove on October 10, 1925, at Boone, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Eagle Grove area until 1968 when they retired, and moved to town.

Mrs. Spangler died at her home on Saturday, March 27, at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 3 days. She is survived by her husband; 5 sons: Edward, Eagle Grove; Richard, Pleasantville; Dale, Eagle Grove; Bruce, Cerritos, Calif.; Ronald, Sonoma, Calif.; 2 daughters: Shirley, Mrs. Loren Krieger, Woolstock; Mary Spangler, Eagle Grove; 5 brothers: James Sanders, Aberdeen, Md.; Herbert Sanders, San Clemente, Calif.; Thomas Sanders, Compton, Calif.; Walter Sanders, Escondido, Calif.; Wayne Sanders, Topanga, Calif.; also 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Clarence; three brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.

Mrs. Spangler was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. on Tuesday, March 30, at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Glazier officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
