Beatrice Gerina (Egemo) Burk

April 27, 1915 ---- February 24, 2010

Beatrice G. Egemo Burk was born in Kanawha, Iowa, April 27, 1915, and passed away at the Rotary Ann Home on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at the age of 94.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Therman; father, Weir Egemo, and mother, Cecilia Ness Egemo. The second oldest of eleven children, she was also preceded in death by brothers: Howard of Eagle Grove, Verner of Moorhead, Minn., and Lawrence of Eagle Grove; and sisters, Mrs. Lurman (Kathrine) Dewinter of Humboldt, Mrs. Leroy (Grace) Thompson of Hardy, and Mrs. Art (Arlene) Spangler of Eagle Grove. Survivors include her son Robert and Dorothy Burk of Sunset, Texas; grandchildren, Cdr. Bryce and Mrs. Burk, and children, Paige, Chloe, and Ciarra of Fort Worth, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Burk and children, Cameron and Kiley of Sunset, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. David (Tracey) Pugh, and children, Katie, Taylor, Rachel, and Michaela of Frisco, Texas.

She was joined in marriage to Therman Burk in 1937. The family moved to Eagle Grove from Renwick in September of 1942. She spent years working in various local businesses, the Wilson Company, Scott Store, and Graham's to name a few. She enjoyed her family and many friends. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on her front porch at her home on West Broadway, visiting with "drop in" friends during "porch sessions". For the last several years, she had been a resident receiving the superlative care provided by the Staff of Rotary Ann. Services will be held at a later date.

The family of Mrs. Therman (Bea) Burk, will host a Memorial Service at 1 p.m., on Saturday, May 22. The service will be held at the Samuel Lutheran Church at 200 North Lincoln, Eagle Grove. A reception will be held following the service in the basement of the church.
