1860 --- December 6, 1939

Mrs. Margaret Kelly was born in Buffalohart, Ill. She lived in this vicinity all of her early life. In 1876 she married John Kelly at Decatur, Ill., and in 1880 they came to Fort Dodge to make their home. Two years later they moved to a farm northeast of Vincent, Iowa. In 1890 Mr. Kelly died and Mrs. Kelly continued to run the farm until 1919 when she went to make her home with her daughter near Waverly. She made frequent visits to this vicinity every year, spending much time with her son and daughter, who have always lived near Vincent. She was always a kind and loving neighbor ever willing and anxious to give assistance to others in time of need. Because of her untiring efforts to serve others, she endeared herself to all who knew her and leaves a host of friends to mourn her death. She is survived by one son Dennis, two daughters, Mrs. Monaghan, and Mrs. E. L. Laurent. A son, John died in infancy. She has fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. There is also one brother, T. J. Hallagan of St Paul. Three brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death.
