December 1863 ---- October 13, 1900

Mrs. Arne, for many years a resident of Goldfield, died after a brief illness at her home in Eagle Grove Oct. 13, 1900. Funeral services were held at the East Side Lutheran church, Rev. Holm officiating, burial at Glenwood Cemetery on Monday. A large concourse of friends from both Eagle Grove and Goldfield assembled to pay respects to their departed friend. During her long residence here Mrs. Arne won many friends by her unassuming piety, and many fine traits of character. A husband and five children, a sister and a large circle of friends mourn her loss. Five children have preceded their mother to the better land. This is the third death in the family since their removal to Eagle Grove, about two years ago. A good wife, a faithful, affectionate and devoted mother has been "called up higher" to hear the merited commendation "Well done, thou good and faithful servent enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."

Mrs. Jno. Arne died at her home in this city, Friday night and the funeral was held Sunday, at the home at 9 o'clock and at the church at 10 o'clock. Rev. Holm preached the sermon and the remains were taken to Goldfield for burial. Mrs. Arne was sick but a few days. She was about 45 years of age and leaves a husband and 18 year old daughter to mourn her loss.
