DAVENPORT, IA -- June A. Peterson, of Davenport, died May 31, 2007, at Davenport Lutheran Home. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. today, June 4, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, with a visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial of cremains will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the church where she was an active member. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family.

June was born March 30, 1919, in Elkader, Iowa, to Shellman and Marvel (Schnack) Harter. She married Virgil Peterson August 10, 1941, in Moline. He preceded her in death in 1982. June was a proud graduate of UTHS in 1936. She was subsequently employed for over 25 years at Deere and Company Administration Center working as a Statistical Administration Assistant retiring in the mid 1970's. June's passions were her church activities, taking walks, and her family and friends.

June is survived by her sons, Barrie (Judy) Peterson, Fort Wayne, Ind., Rick (Virginia) Peterson, Yuma, Ariz., and Jon (Carolynn) Peterson, Rock Island; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Harter, Phoenix, Ariz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Hermione Schmidt and Betty Kracke.
