ROCK ISLAND, IL - Services for Hermione H. Schmidt, 76, of Rock Island, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline.

Mrs. Schmidt died Friday at Trinity Medical center-East Campus, Moline. She was employed as a secretary at Moline Paint Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1971. She previously was employed as secretary at Dohrn Transfer Co., Rock Island; Borden Co., Rock Island; and as a bookkeeper at Strombeck-becker Manufacturing Co., Moline.

Hermione Harter married Vernon Schmidt in 1937 in Moline. He died in 1983. She was a member of the church; Goodwill Circle of the church; member of the Moline Business Women's Club; and Friendship Club of Kings Daughters. She enjoyed music, arts and crafts. Memorials may be made to the church.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Mrs. Leslie) Ross, Batavia, Ill.; a son, Gerald, Moline; four grandchildren; sisters, June Peterson, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Pauline Betty Kracke, Port Orchard, Wash.; and a brother, Roy [Harter], Denver.
