Pauline Betty Kracke, 80, Port Orchard, Wash., formerly of East Moline, Illinois died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001. A memorial service was Saturday, Nov. 24, at Adventure in Faith Presbyterian Church (South Kitsap Presbyterian), Port Orchard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fred Hutchinson Research Center, 1124 Columbia St., Seattle, WA 98104. Haven of Rest, Gig Harbor, Wash., handled arrangements.

She was born in Woolstock, Iowa, raised in East Moline, and graduated from UTHS (East Moline High School) in 1939. She married in 1940 and moved to Seattle, Wash., in 1950 and on to Port Orchard in 1978. Betty was a seamstress and served the community by being involved in the Parent Teacher Association and serving at the Community Family Kitchen. She loved and supported her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty's church home was Adventure in Faith Presbyterian Church.

Survivors (and spouses) include her husband of 61 years, Roy; sons, Dennis (Allna), Seattle, and Jeffrey (Michelle), The Colony, Texas; daughter JoAnn (Darryl) Stephens, Port Orchard; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, June Peterson, Silvis; brother, Roy Harter, Apache Junction, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews; and special family friends, David and Danette Derego. She was preceded in death by sister, Hermione Schmidt and grandson, Brandon Stephens.
