Mrs. John Haberkorn, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Block, at Renwick, Iowa, on Saturday, Feb. 7, aged 80 years and 5 days. She was born at Baden, Germany, on Feb. 2, 1834. In 1882 she came to this country with her husband and children and they first located at Ottawa, where they resided until 1890 when they removed to Chatsworth. They resided here for six years and then went to Hanna, Iowa. Mrs. Haberkorn was the mother of five children; Theodore, who died Feb. 2; Mrs. John Derr, who died a few years ago; Mrs. Henry Haberkorn, residing here; Mrs. Frank Block, who resides at Renwick, Iowa; and Julius Haberkorn, who resides at Humboldt, Iowa. The aged husband survives her and resides with his daughter, Mrs. Henry Haberkorn. She is also survived by eight grandchildren. While her death was not wholly unexpected, she having been bedridden for fifteen months prior to her death, still it cast a gloom over the sorrowing relatives, coming so soon after the death of her son, Theodore. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Haberkorn, and her aged husband, from here, were at her bedside when death came.
