Richard Dick H. Butler, 74 of Camanche, Iowa passed away peacefully at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa after a brief battle with Leukemia on Saturday June 3, 2017. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a private burial in Williams, Iowa and a family celebration of life taking place at a later date.

Richard was born April 3, 1943 in Eagle Grove, Iowa son of Harry Francis Butler and Bernadine Doyle Butler. Richard owned and operated Camanche Heating and Air Conditioning for 47 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and growing beautiful flowers proudly displayed in his yard.

Richard is survived by three brothers William Butler, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Robert Butler (Gloria) Camanche, Iowa and James Butler (Jonette) Atlantis, Florida. One daughter, Becky Butler, West Des Moines, Iowa. Three grandchildren, Joshua Bard (Belinda) Iowa City, Iowa, Stephanie Brungardt, (Joshua) Ankeny, Iowa and Brooke Gehler (Ben) Spencer, Iowa and five great-grandchildren. A special friend Linda McConnaughey and his kitty Mimi, many special nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Preceding Richard in death were his parents. Memorials can be made to an organization of charity of choice.
