March 19, 1940 ---- May 24, 2017

Dwight A. Davis, 77, of Klemme, IA, passed away, Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Hospice of North Iowa-Mason City, IA, with his loving family at his side following a lengthy and well fought battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, May 30, at Klemme United Methodist Church, Klemme, IA. The Reverends Don and Cindy Morrison will be officiating. Burial will be in the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Monday, May 29, 2017, at Andrews Funeral Home, 528 East Main St., Klemme, IA, and will continue from 10:30 am until time of the services Tuesday. Those wishing to express their sympathies through a card or memorial in Dwight's name may wish to consider the Hope Lodge, Rochester, MN, to the family, or to the donor's choice,

Dwight Alvis Davis, the son of Scott and Alva (Berhow) Davis was born March 19, 1940 at Hampton Community Hospital. Dwight was confirmed as a member of the Congregational Church in Belmond, IA. He attended Belmond Community schools and graduated from Belmond High School in the class of 1958. He later became a member of the Klemme United Methodist Church.

Dwight was married to the love of his life, Betty (Zeigler) Davis in the summer of 1962. He managed many lumber yards across northern Iowa and southern Minnesota, from Lampert's locations to Spahn & Rose, amongst others, before settling his family in Klemme, IA. He continued working at the Klemme Elevator hauling feed, before retiring in 2003. After retiring Dwight drove semi of Mike Legge.

Dwight enjoyed many family traditions, Christmas was a favorite. Other favorite pastimes included hunting with his son, watching his kids and grandchildren no matter what they might be participating, camping, looking forward to visits with his grandkids. Dwight loved driving semi and "talking trucking" with anyone that would listen. But his all time favorite past time was driving miles and miles on vacation with his high school sweetheart. The two of them at made it to visit 39 states in the U.S.. Their favorite adventures were to the western states. If during the recent times of his illness they had taken an excursion to the Big Horn Mountains a destination he was very fond of.

Dwight had been past fire chief and a volunteer fireman with the Klemme Fire Department.

Those who will carry on his memory and life legacy, include his wife, Betty (Zeigler) Davis, Klemme, IA, son Todd (Sherry) Davis, Klemme, IA, and a daughter Deanna (Randy) Nannenga of Klemme, IA; grandchildren: Ethan, Bethany, and Anastasia Nannenga, and Cassandra and Nicholas Davis, all of Klemme, IA; a sister, Shirley (Steve) Hill, Clarion, IA; sister-in-law, Marjorie (Jerry) Tripp, Garner, IA; bothers-in-law Robert Zeigler, Gary (Nancy) Johnson, and Marvin (Marlys) Johnson, all of Kanawha, IA; and many nieces and nephews. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Sanford Davis. Andrews Funeral Home, Klemme, IA.
