Truman Koehn, 81, Ashwaubenon, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 27, 1936, in Fond du Lac, to Ernest and Leona (Lerch) Koehn.

In 1940, Truman's family moved to Eagle Grove, IA where he attended school before entering the U.S. Army in 1955. Truman spent his entire Army career with HQ & HQ Co. Combat Command "B". He was honorably discharged in 1957 and returned home to Green Bay. On February 9, 1963, Truman married Priscilla Reinhold. Truman worked for the railroad for 40 years before retiring in 1998, working for both Chicago & Northwestern Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad as a locomotive engineer.

He loved to write history and wrote a great deal of railroad history, much of which is in the local history section of the Brown County Library and the National Railroad Museum. Truman also has Army memoirs in the archives of the 3rd Armored Division at the University of Illinois - Urbana. He was also a woodworking hobbyist, making many items over the years. Truman was a member of Green Bay Community Church, as well as the Washington Lodge #21, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, Valley of Green Bay, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Chicago & Northwestern Veterans Association and Historical Society.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Koehn; five children, Jeff (Monica) Koehn, Curt (Melinda) Koehn, Cheryl (Brad) Davis, Rocky (Katie) Koehn, Robin (Mike) Prigge; 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jacquelin Heubel, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Truman was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Constance Koehn; and his first wife, Beverlee (Ferguson) Koehn.

Friends may call at Green Bay Community Church, 600 Cardinal Lane, Green Bay, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 28. The Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the church with Pastor Kim Sechler officiating. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family. The family requests that donations be made to Unity Hospice.
