September 18, 1892 ---- January 8, 1910
It was a sad and sudden ending that came to the life of Ethel May Luick when she died at her home last Saturday morning after only a week's sickness of typhoid fever contracted while working at the home of James Courtney at Meservey. Miss Luick is the daughter of Lewis [sic] and Mary Luick and was born at Goodell, September 18, 1891 [sic]. She was a young lady of a bright sunny disposition, kind and obedient to her parents, ever thoughtful of her people and friends. Such a disposition made her many friends who ever felt that to know her was to love her. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon conducted by the pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, J. A. Kettle, and interment made in the cemetery. She leaves besides her parents five brothers, three sisters to mourn her death, though they feel like saying,
Sleep on, beloved, sleep and take thy rest,
Lay down thy head upon the Savior's breast.
We loved thee well, but Jesus loves thee best.
