December 24, 1887 --- June 17, 1977

George M. Luick, 90, of 115 Pletcher Terrace [Grand Island, Nebraska] died Friday morning in a Wood River care home after a long illness. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 3-9 p.m. Sunday at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Grace Lutheran Church.

Mr. Luick was born December 24, 1887, in Belmond, Iowa, the son of Lewis and Mary Hunt Luick. He received his education in the Belmond area. On Sept. 15, 1948, he married Olga Hansen in Benkelman. They lived there before moving to Missouri. In 1962 the couple moved to Grand Island. Mr. Luick was a resident of the nursing home for a year due to failing health. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he was confirmed and baptized at age 86.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Hans (Velma) Jakobsen and Ms. Jean Jackson, both of Thornton, Iowa; one step-daughter, Mrs. Richard (Deloris) Kraning of Grand Island; one stepson, Martin Christensen of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Farmer and Mrs. Marion Smith, both of Belmond, Iowa; one brother, Albert of Belmond, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, one son and three brothers.
