Guy M. Finley Funeral Held Wednesday P. M.

Funeral services for Guy M. Finley were held Wednesday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral Home with Rev. Francis Phelan in charge. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. Military rites were conducted by
Clarence Shurtz Post. He died early Monday, Jan. 25 at the Rotary Anne Home where he had been a patient for one day. He has been in failing health for many years, and bedfast for four months.

Mr. Finley is survived by one daughter Mrs. Irene Ford, who had cared for him during his long illness, and two sons Ronald of Norwalk, Calif., and Lt. Col. Harley Finley of Camp Dodge. Mr. Finley was born in Franklin county July 18, 1877. He served in the Spanish American War in 1898, and at the time of his death was next to the last veteran of that conflict in the county. Howard Schoonover is now the last survivor of Company C in this county. Mr. Finley began working for the Chicago and Northwestern R.R. in 1900 and was a passenger conductor when he retired on pension in September of 1946. He was married to Miss Anna Maier of Eagle Grove in 1904 and to this union the one daughter and two sons were born. Mrs. Finley died in 1945. Ronald Finley arrived Tuesday for the funeral and will be here until Friday.
