Floyd Elijah, the son of Theodore and Ruth Broshar, was born January 19, 1928. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on two different carriers as a signalman. After his honorable discharge from the Navy he met the love of his life Carol June Followwill. They were married in July 1949 at Centerville. Floyd worked hard and was very proud of the farm equipment dealerships he operated. He started with his father-in-law Matt Followwill in 1951 in Belmond, and ended with Broshar Implement in Kanawha in 1975 when he retired and turned the business over to his son Bill.

Floyd was privileged to serve as mayor of Belmond in 1968 for one term, and he enjoyed farming with his sons. After retirement Floyd and Carol moved to Arizona where he enjoyed golfing, gatherings with friends, and selling securities. After 41 years of marriage, Carol passed away on September 30, 1990.

In 1992 Floyd met Betty Carden through mutual friends and they were married in Ahwatukee that December. They purchased a farm in Mt. Ayr where they enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening and the American Legion. They were married 23 years before Betty’s passing on April 19, 2015. Floyd then moved to Payson to be closer to his daughter.

Floyd was preceded in death by first wife Carol; second wife Betty; brother Virgil; grandson Brad Broshar; and stepdaughter Debbie Carden. He is survived by his children Bill (Chris) Broshar of Kanawha, Vicki (Jerry) Brewer of Payson, and Brian (Rose) Broshar of Clear Lake; grandchildren Tara (Julio) Astigarraga, Denae (Scot) Lossing, Brandi (Mitch) Hoffman, Stephanie Broshar, Ryan (Molly) Broshar, Brent Broshar, Tiffany (Jason) Moore, Lacy Broshar, and Derik Broshar; step-children Dean (Vicki) Carden and Diane (Denny) Richardson; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Francis Lucas and Pauline Donovan; and brother John Broshar.
