Leonard William Wendt, 96, of Nowata, died early today (Feb. 1, 1990) in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Muskogee, Okla. He was born Oct. 15, 1893, to John Jacob and Flora Ellen (Ballou) Wendt in Galt, Iowa. Mr. Wendt had lived in Nowata since 1935 and was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, John Edgar of Nowata; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Benjamin Funeral Chapel with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
