October 10, 1916 ---- October 24, 1997

Charley S. Cormaney, 81, Webster City, died Friday, Oct. 24, 1997, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Rev. John J. Walsh celebrant. A Rosary service will be held at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, followed by a scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, and at the church prior to the Mass.

Charley Schultz Cormaney, son of Earl and Ann (Schultz) Cormaney, was born Oct. 10, 1916 at St. James, Minn. He moved with his parents to Iowa and was educated in Fremont Township 8, [near Woolstock] northeast of Webster City. On Feb. 24, 1941, he married Deloris (Doris) Murphy at Williams. The couple farmed north of Blairsburg for several years. In 1968, they moved to Blairsburg, he was employed at Franklin Manufacturing (Frigidaire) retiring in 1975. The couple moved to Webster City in 1983. Mrs. Cormaney died in December of 1991.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Judie Cormaney, Blairsburg, Patrick and Linda Cormaney, Webster City; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Frank Weisberg, Woolstock; grandchildren, Mitchelle, Cheryl, Troy, Sara and Emily Cormaney, and Angel and Holly Weisberg; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Matthew Cormaney; brothers, Melvin, Woolstock, Carl, Blairsburg and Donald, Mason City; sisters, Esther Riley, Iowa Falls and Daisy Hill, Ellsworth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Cormaney was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Adelbert, Kenneth and Earl Jr.; and sisters Violet Cormaney and Shirley Meyer. Mr. Cormaney was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and UAW 442.
