James Milton Van Schoyck, 88, died 3 p.m. Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. L. Gustafson, New Hampton, Ia., of a complication of diseases incident to advanced age. He made his home in Waterloo for six years with a son, R. W. Van Schoyck, 709 Baltimore street, leaving here about two years ago. Mr. Van Schoyck was born in Illinois and farmed many years in Webster City, Ia. His wife preceded him in death 15 years ago. Surviving are five sons, L. S. Van Schoyck, Elmhurst, Ill.; H. L. Van Schoyck, Sioux Falls, S. D.; S. D. and L. H. Van Schoyck, Chicago, and R. W. Van Schoyck, Waterloo; one daughter Mrs. Gustafson; one sister, Mrs. Ben Higdon, Britt, Ia.; also 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at New Hampton by Rev. W. D. Spicer. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Waterloo.

Rites for VanSchoyck Held at New Hampton

NEW HAMPTON. April 3. — Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for James Milton VanSchoyck, who died Sunday afternoon at the home of his daughter Mrs. J. L. Gustafson. Rites were at the Congregational church with the Rev. W. D. Spiker, pastor, officiating. Mr. VanSchoyck was born in Franklin county, Ohio, Feb. 15, 1846. Four years ago Mr. VanSchoyck moved from Waterloo. One daughter, Mrs. J. L. Gustafson, New Hampton, four sons, L. S. VanSchoyck, Elmhurst, Ill., R. W. VanSchoyck, Waterloo, L. H. VanSchoyck, Sioux Falls, S. Dak., one sister, Mrs. Ben Higdon, Britt, survive.
