Funeral services for Mrs. Raymond (Leota C.) Givens of 2500 S. E. 72nd St., Runnels, were held at the Willim Funeral Home in Latimer on Thursday, June 21, 1979 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Keith Heber of the Immanuel United Church of Christ was the officiant and burial was in the Marion Center Cemetery east of Latimer. Mrs. Givens died at her home on Monday afternoon, June 18, 1979. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.

Born at Belmond on May 9, 1918, she was the daughter of Percy and Matilda Hanson Bamford and grew to womanhood in the area of her birth. After her education she moved to Des Moines and lived there until her marriage to Raymond Given on September 17, 1955. After their marriage they lived in Latimer until moving to Des Moines in 1958. While in Latimer the family was a member of the United Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. David (Dixie) Smith of Des Moines, her mother, Mrs. Matilda Bamford, a sister, Mrs. Lela Schleiffarth and two brothers, Carroll and Loren Bamford, all of Belmond. Her father and a sister preceded her in death.
