Leo J. Butler, 81, of Williams, died on Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at the Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services were held at the St. Mary's Catholic church with burial in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

Leo James, was born on November 29, 1923 in Webster City, the son of Thomas P. and Mary T. (Collins) Butler. He married Lorene Mary Smith at St. Mary's on October 10, 1946. They farmed for 53 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife. Survivors include his daughter, Mary (Paul) Fankhauser of Williams; son, Jim Butler of Belmond; granddaughter, Cheri (Terry) Matthews of Nebraska; and grandsons, Brian Fankhauser of Slater, Tom (Dawn) Butler of Belmond and Dan Butler of California.
